Content Lab to build your digital presence
Fellows set themselves apart with a digital brand curated by their mentor orgs - providing relevant and current dialogue to provide potential employers with a comprehensive overview of their experiences, skills, and achievements.
We focus on social media training, resume review and mock interviews. Ultimately you'll write a blog or speak at a conference - have your story out there, on every developer and career platform.

“a diverse group of talented fellows and mentors”
I recently completed an enriching fellowship at ProgramEquity, where I had the privilege of collaborating with a diverse group of talented fellows and mentors.I worked on Amplify, an open-source app that actively involves users in the fight against climate change. I had the opportunity to explore and learn technologies like Vue.js, Postman, Github Codespaces, and APIs such as Stripe and Cicero. I also got to sharpen my technical writing skills, a key asset in the tech industry.

...the levels of communications that are needed to drive an issue moreover a project to succeed. I acquired a new level to my technical skills and familiar with tools that prior to the cohort I thought were too much for me. I met so many great people who played a role on being not just mentors but friends and for that I am grateful that I found this community.

My thoughts? I'd say life changing.After completing the program, I had a realistic idea of my career path. I felt equipped for my entry to tech. I'm working towards being a better software developer, changemaker, an all around team player and collaborator thanks to the continued support with a career mentor we have access to after graduating.

Being part of ProgramEquity helped me make the switch between academia and the tech world. I learned to navigate GitHub, Slack, Figma, and other tools with mentors which was a huge part of feeling comfortable during interviews which eventually led to landing my first role at Valley App.

I learned a lot of new technologies and skills to create this solution, including Vue.js, PostgreSQL, Knex.js, Objection.js, testing API endpoints using Postman, and unit testing using Jest.js. I’m so fortunate that I was able to work on an exciting and complex issue like this so soon after beginning to contribute to open source projects and could ramp more easily.

“I can implement solutions in less than a week”
Less than 1 week into working on ProgramEquity's open source Amplify code base and I already had my first PR in! I learned how to approach languages and could collaborate with mentors on the best fix. I had so much fun figuring out the best way to implement this change in Vue.js. leveraging both AI and my own research. I can take this mindset to any problem.

Completely, no costs are associated!
What kind of time commitment is expected of this program? How long does it last?
Commitment wise:
1-2 hours a week, we have a pair hour once a week where people code after onboarding. Optional meetings for procuring content like YouTube shorts or conference talks. Overall program lasts between 10-12 weeks based on your pace
What prior experience do you expect from your fellows?
Most people will have a bootcamp or experience tinkering around with html or a database and 1-2 instances of a group project. No prior experience needed working with APIs, Tests, Security, or AI.
Is having an outside full-time job OK?
Many fellows do, its up to you to assess what kind of learning environment you need and communication. If you're an async learner, this works out well since all sessions are recorded and mentors can be found for quick questions while you're debugging.
